SharkBite Max™?
SharkBite Max™ connects over the outside of the pipe — no tube liners needed.
That means better water flow, less restriction and stronger performance under pressure.
Our 304 stainless steel collar unleashes the sharks’ teeth. Giving you double the burst pressure of our First-Generation fittings.
Our Shark Grade 316 stainless steel teeth grip the pipe tight. It slides in easily but bites down hard, giving you a secure connection every time.
Made from lead-free brass that resists corrosion and stands up to tough conditions.
A chloramine-resistant EPDM O-ring compresses around the pipe to form a watertight seal before it hits the stop.
Lets you easily remove the pipe (if needed) with the use of a SharkBite® Disassembly Clip.

The First-Generation of SharkBite® products will be incrementally discontinued and superseded by SharkBite Max™.
A modest unit price increase will be applied to reflect the significant jump in performance, reliability, and long-term value.
The pipe is compatible with both systems; however, please note that First-Generation and Max fittings have different insertion depths.

Using feedback from plumbers, we took SharkBite® (First-Generation) and made a few enhancements to create SharkBite Max™, a stronger version of the industry-leading push-to-connect fitting.
SharkBite Max™ is stronger because of a few key upgrades:
- A newly designed stainless-steel retainer delivers additional strength.
- SharkBite Max™ fittings no longer require tube liner for PEX applications.
- A re-engineered body allows for a stronger connection.
