The Connection

In one easy push the Sharkbite fitting’s advanced design seals and locks the tube securely. When the tube is inserted into the fitting, it passes first through the release collar and then through the stainless steel grab ring. The grab ring opens out and grabs the tube preventing it from being withdrawn. The tube then passes through the o-ring protector which aligns the tube before the tube passes through the o-ring before hitting the tube stop.

A secure joint is only created when the tube reaches the tube stop.

If required the tube and fitting can be easily disconnected using the Sharkbite disassembly clip or tongs. Simply apply pressure to the release collar. This releases the grab ring teeth allowing the tube to be withdrawn from the fitting.

Working Pressure

In compliance with AS2537-1994 a Sharkbite joint will withstand an internal pressure of 1600 kPa @ 20° C or 800 kPa @ 95° C.
