The Clipsal 500 Adelaide has come to a whirlwind end!

The SharkBite sponsored Holden Racing team; James Courtney and Garth Tander, both finished the 1st race in strong qualifying positions before heading into race 3 where the weather took a turn for the worst. With heavy rain conditions Courtney unfortunately hit the wall and was forced in for repairs, returning later in the race 8 laps behind the leader, finally finishing in 21st place, with Tander taking a spot on the podium in 3rd.

Kim Jane qualified in P2 for race 1 in the SharkBite sponsored ute meaning a start on the front row. Sadly he clipped a tyre barrier which in turn put him into the wall and out of the race. Significant damage to the car was sustained and the team worked very hard to get the car ready for race 2. Kim started from the back in race 2 and charged up several spots before a major failure of an oil cooler line saw the car burst into flames down the main straight catching fire. Kim lost control due to the oil leak and was lucky the car ended up spinning out into the kitty litter which helped distinguish some of the flames. Kim was very lucky to have walked out uninjured however the car suffered further damage from the impact at turn 1 and the onboard fire. Kim was unable to compete in the 3rd race. A disappointing weekend for Kim as the car was showing some great pace.

We look forward to the next round in Melbourne!
